Budapest Liberty State/Elizabeth Bridge #12

Designed by Hungarian sculptor Zsigmond Kisfaludi Strobl, and located on Gellert Hill, the Liberation Monument is to commemorate the liberation of Budapest by the Russian army in 1945. A woman holding aloft a palm leaf stands on the pedestal with the height of 46 feet. At the base are two allegorical compositions, representing progress and the battle with evil.
